It’s Official – TZC is Here!
“I am pleased to welcome Tappan Zee Constructors to the Village of Tarrytown,” village mayor Drew Fixell said in a press release yesterday. “TZC has been preparing carefully for the launch of the staging area at Hudson Harbor that will be the base of operations for much of the construction activity for the replacement Tappan Zee Bridge.”
In answer to one pressing question, Fixell said, “Village officials have been working closely with TZC and the Thruway Authority to assure that activities relating to the building of the new bridge continue with least imposition on the village, and to allow TZC to finish the work on their aggressive schedule.”
The design-build team leased space at Hudson Harbor, where it will continue management of daily project activities. Additionally, “Westchester-based construction staff will be ferried to work sites from an adjoining pier in Sleepy Hollow,” the release said, “and no heavy equipment or building materials will be located at Hudson Harbor, or taken to work sites from the shore in this area.”
Direct comments and questions regarding this statement to David Aukland, Tarrytown’s liaison for the bridge replacement project, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I’d like to know what you think.
