Real and Simulated Meet in a Dream

Funny how the last scenes we dream are so vivid — or do we remember them because they are immediately before awakening?

The other day, I was walking with a group along the new shared use path. The weather was warm, the sky clear and sunny, and I stopped often to look at the mesmerizing view seen when driving from Westchester to Rockland.

And while the model bridge from the animation video — anything is possible, more so in dreams, right? — was as real as the bridge I drove across last week, the scenic overlooks were missing.

I wrote about the belvederes in another post, and how I’d like them to offer more shade. You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone, says the song, and here was the new bridge, sans overlooks and shade.

Fish and Chips

It was a dream. And while dreams have meanings, here’s my take: I was walking on the to-be-built bridge above the Hudson River. Fresh air, and a perfect view of nature’s beauty. Real mixed with simulated. How cool is that.

I’d like to know what you think.
