A River’s Edge View of the New NY Bridge Project
This intrepid reporter went boating today. Big doings on the Hudson River.
Many thanks to Tappan Zee Constructors, LLC (TZC) for this river’s edge view of the project. Increased activity in the water since last year — the 90 to 100 vessels and barges in the river will become more than 130 as the project ramps up — calls for heightened boater safety and awareness.
We saw the first blush of the new bridge today: piles that will form the foundation of the new spans north of the current bridge.
With the design 95 percent completed, the project is on time, and on budget. “The attention to detail, accuracy, scheduling, documentation for the size and scope of this project is impressive,” special project advisor Brian Conybeare commented.
Thanks to New NY Bridge project officials for a close up of what we see from the shorelines, and from our cars driving across the span. I have a new perspective: it’s busy out there! Stay tuned for more about today’s boat tour.
I’d like to know what you think.
