It’s Heeeere!

Big excitement here: tracking the I Lift NY super crane from the Port Jersey facility, where it it’s been since its arrival earlier this winter, to our very own project site.

Afer leaving Oakland, CA, days before Christmas — escorted by tugboats Lauren Foss and Iver Foss — it arrived about six weeks later at a private facility in Jersey City. And today it made the final six-to-eight hour trek here at just under five knots (5.8 miles per hour)

Photos of the I Lift NY leaving lower Manhattan, and passing the Statue of Liberty and the Freedom Tower with its United States Coast Guard escort, are courtesy of New NY Bridge Outreach.
