Keeping My Word to You and to Myself

Christmas bridge and Hanukkah menorah in window of Nyack Outreach/NNYB Outreach

Recently I wrote about gratitude and generosity, and I committed to donating some of dad’s clothes and at least one of his warm coats. I also committed to donating a pint of blood.

Mom has chosen some clothes to donate, and I called to make an appointment for next week. Bring on the pre-donation iron test!

While you’re out and about shopping or browsing or enjoying the un-winter-like temps — except for a few days, the weather has been very obliging — stop by the Outreach Centers to learn about the first pier towers, watch the video and pose by the pilings.

They’re at 142 Main St., Nyack, and at 303 S. Broadway, Tarrytown. Hours are Monday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

I’d like to know what you think.

Good job! I am sure someone who truly needs them will apreciate the donation. They will do much more good on someone’s back rather than the back of a closet!

Thank you. Each time she and I opened the closet, we looked through clothes, smelled them, started to cry and closed the door. Dad always provided for us, and others, and it feels like the right time to start again.
