New Info Panels and Display at Outreach Center
Psst. There’s a new guy in town; I hear they call him Safety Sam. Want to meet him? He’s at one of the two Outreach Centers and is part of the new, educational and fun displays for visitors. See how he prepared for work safety, a priority on the New NY Bridge project.
Last year was busy for Team Outreach. During 2014, more than 6,000 students in three states learned about the project via presentations in and out of school, and via Skype and site visits, tailored to college and graduate level, to doctoral scholars and students with special needs, vocational, high school, middle school, and elementary school students.
Kids drew the bridge. Adults did, too: art from last summer’s show decorates both Outreach Centers, where visitors can see visions of the current and future bridge.
Since the summer, the Outreach Team continues making connections: a sizeable number of visitors asking about presentations led to associations with local schools and civic organizations (79 events to date and eight appointments on the books so far this year), project officials said.
I’d like to know what you think.
