No ice! The river has returned as will stronger and safer batch plants, project officials said Friday.

“Tappan Zee Constructors, LLC (TZC’s) investigation into the cause of the structural failures of one of our floating concrete batch plant’s silos is ongoing,” TZC spokeswoman Carla Julian said in a statement. “Our team has now finalized repairs and adjustments to the two batch plants that were on site. These two plants have been retrofitted structurally and new silos have been installed.”

Julian said a third batch plant “procured to help mitigate any schedule impacts associated with making adjustments to the original two batch plants” will be at the project site within a few months (early summer).

“Safety is our number one priority—TZC has invested significant strategic planning and effort to ensure the safety of our employees and the traveling public as we progress the project,” she said.

I’d like to know what you think.
