Tappan Zee Constructors, LLC (TZC) spokeswoman Carla Julian accepted an award on behalf of the bridge design-builder at the NY Women Builders Council’s (WBC’s) 11th Annual Champion Awards Dinner last week at New York City’s Gotham Hall.

TZC was recognized for its Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program for the New NY Bridge project, which offers hundreds of millions of dollars in contract opportunities to New York’s Minority, Women and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (MWDBEs). TZC employees honored at the event as outstanding women in construction are:

Sally Bankes, Hannah Carmical, Melissa Chin, Sierra Farber, Evamarie Gerri, Victoria Graney, Carla Julian, Sabrina Levine, Jeanette Pineda, Victoria Rasper and Alessandra Rosso.

SAs of February 2015, 93 DBE firms have performed on the NNYB project with a total subcontract value of $149.2 million.

Julian is TZC’s Community Outreach/Diversity Manager and a member of the WBC Board of Director.

I’d like to know what you think.
