I-287 On-ramp at Route 119 Closed for One Night

Tonight starting at 8 p.m. the on-ramp to the Thruway at Route 119 will close until tomorrow (Tuesday) at 6 a.m., per a press release from the Authority.

The overnight closure is for milling and paving work, part of the $8.4 million paving project on I-87 between mileposts (exits) 11 and 13.

There will be detour routes to direct drivers.

My thought: They will be directed east along Route 119 to the on-ramp near the Westchester Marriott. Drivers in Tarrytown may find Benedict Avenue to Route 119 is a shorter drive.

Motorists can check electronic signboards and Highway Advisory Radio (530 AM) for updates about expected delays. In case of inclement weather, the work may be postponed.

The project will be completed in accordance with Governor Cuomo’s Drivers First Initiative, which prioritizes convenience and minimizes disruptions for drivers.

I’d like to know what you think.
