Countdown to Christmas: Overnight Lane Closures

Wondering what happened to winter? It’s here tomorrow night (the 21st), when December Solstice in New York starts at 11:49 p.m. Bring on those few extra minutes of daily daylight, and start the countdown to when we move the clocks ahead (March 13, 2016).

If you’re driving home from work or doing last-minute shopping or going out, then note southbound lanes from Exit 12 to Exit 10 will close overnight this week:

Monday one left lane will close at 8 p.m., a second left lane will close at 9 p.m., and both will reopen Tuesday morning at 5 a.m.

Tuesday and Wednesday one right lane will close at 8 p.m., a second right lane will close at 9 p.m., and both will open the following days at 5 a.m.

Project press release with closings and other information is here.

I’d like to know what you think.
