Notable Few Weeks through an Expert’s Lens
Photographer and writer Frank LoBuono has been detailing his adventures in Iowa and New Hampshire, showing us the doings besides candidates and caucuses . . . like getting from here to there — why are connecting flight gates never near each other? — on time so we can watch at home.
Remember the blizzard a few weeks ago, when we saw the-city-that-never-sleeps wide awake? Imagine explaining something to a friend and ending your story with, “You had to be there.” He was there!
What we don’t see on television captivates me: the beauty of each place, people on the street, trees catching the waning sunlight, landmark architecture, finding the snow-covered car after nonstop days at work, heading back to an airport for connecting flights to another city.
I’m a vicarious traveler and have never been to either state; however, someone I met and became friends with at college was from Iowa. Does that count?
