No E-ZPass®? Many Ways to Pay Cashless Toll Bill

You know the new cashless tolling system will start soon. Here’s the scoop:

Motorists who do not have E-ZPass® tags need not feel left out; cameras will take pictures of license plates and mail each driver a bill for the toll fee.

New York State doesn’t take kindly to toll violators so do not ignore this bill.

The state will accept payment via the Tolls By Mail website, by mail, phone or in person and by check, credit card, checking account or cash. A text to **826 will return information about the Tolls By Mail website and payment details.

During the testing period, drivers won’t be charged or affected by the gantry, and yes, they’ll still have to pay in Tarrytown when driving from Rockland . . . until it closes, and a new system is built in its place.

And for now, it’s still $5 cash.

I’d like to know what you think.
