All the Traffic Alerts . . . and then Finished Early?

I wonder why the bridge builder said it needed two days this weekend and only one day next weekend (rain date). It needed Friday from 9 p.m. to Saturday at 2 p.m. , and again from 9 p.m. to Sunday (today) at 2 p.m.

In case of inclement weather, the work would be postponed until Friday, May 6 beginning at 9 p.m., with completion by Saturday, May 7 at 2 p.m. No work or delays on Sunday, Mother’s Day.

That never happened.

So why the warnings about two days of horrendous traffic and alternate plan advisories only to be told construction crews finished three hours before their 2 p.m. deadline AND one full day earlier than scheduled?

Great that they finished sooner — or was only one day needed in the first place?

I’d like to know what you think.
