Looking forward to Resuming our Mini Road Trips

Mom’s been wanting to see the bridge a little closer than the view from the day room. Her arms have gotten stronger from the past few months of physical therapy, and while her legs are a little unsteady, I was told Friday she can leave the facility for short car trips.

Destination: across the new span and to Memorial Park in Nyack. Soon, mom.

Days before the topping off ceremony last December, we drove there, prompting questions and observations about the construction. She wanted to know when crews would start removing sections of the Tappan Zee Bridge.

“Are we going to drive on that?” she asked during another trip two months later.

Leaves are halfway gone from trees, and the new bridge is more visible each day. Yesterday, a few of the residents asked me about the project, and I shared as much as I knew. They and staff are looking forward to learning more when the facility arranges a presentation with the project team.

I’d like to know what you think.
