Missing our Rides and Spending Time Together

It’s all about perception. A little more than 18 months ago, mom and I took a drive north. It was August, and we wanted to enjoy the warm weather. Yes, it will return.

We stopped at a viewing area off one of the local roads and discovered this rock.

Someone made a great effort to get to that rock to write on it. It’s surrounded by greenery, maybe some of it Poison ivy, and might have been a dangerous trek.

Now look at it from this angle: it’s behind a guard rail, down a very steep incline and surrounded by who-knows-what. Someone really wanted to write on that rock. That’s determination.

Our last drive to Memorial Park was this time last year. She has yet to ride across the new bridge that she watched being built. Soon enough.

I’d like to know what you think.
