Progressing on Opposite Sides of the Thruway

Next month will be three years ago that water splashed, and the machine lunged at the former police barracks and Thruway Authority maintenance facility in Tarrytown.

The building was separated from the barracks, creating a gap that had been sealed the day before (click photo).

As both new facilities take shape, crews continue pouring concrete for the new state police barracks on the south side of the Thruway and are installing exterior wall panels on the new maintenance building on the north side (you can see it from the approach span).

The past will soon be gone: crews are demolishing the old maintenance garage in Tarrytown. Photos 1 and 3 courtesy of the New York State Thruway Authority.

Remember what happened seven months ago? Click here to find out.

I’d like to know what you think.
